Photographer’s Note
Another view of the Yellow Mountains (Huang Shan), often the subject of Chinese watercolour paintings. The Huang Shan are about 150-200 miles south west of Shanghai.
It started snowing a few minutes after this was taken, so no blue sky that day!

Hello Chris, j’aime bien cet enchaînement de montagnes.
Bien vu les arbres au premier plan, ca contraste bien avec ce ciel assez gris !
Quel beau paysage, belle mise en valeur !
Beau travail

Hi Chris,
The rocks to the right side with the different colours, the leftside with the green trees, give a great contrast, but very beautiful.
Excellent again!
Cheers,
John.

Bonjour Cris,
Une photographie en trois dimensions avec ces curieux pins au premier plan qui se détachent à merveille sur cette chaîne montagneuse, le tout nimbé d'une brume formant une écharpe protectrice.
Belle réussite.
Amitiés.

Hi Chris,
You have managed to capture that painting effect for the mountains. It is indeed beautiful and the dreamy mood is attractive. The trees on the left however, make us realized that it's a true scene and not one of fantasy. Congratulations!! Thanks and regards.

Again a fine contribution in your series of very distant places. Grand landscape well presented in the compo. Nice effect of the trees to the left.

Hi Chris,
The view of the hills under the mist look wonderful. If you take the left trees out, it reminds me the Lord of The Rings..:))
The trees on the left make the composition more strong. Also the good DoF you have here.
Well done and thanks for sharing...

No need for blue sky here, Chris. It is a breattaking landscape and a very nice shot with the opposite slopes of the mountains and the trees that balance each other. I like the faded background, there is magic in this place.

Hi Chris, Thank you for positing this Huangshan. photo. This mountain brings back more than beautiful scenery to me. I love this mountain. The different cloud view is the signature of this mountain.
Even if without blue sky, this photo is beautiful. It is simply like a Chinese painting. Good POV and excellent contrast, and very nice composition.

Snow it’s an image that I totally don’t associate with China. I’m sure that in such a big country it must be common in certain places but we never see it. Very nice composition with the V shapes formed by the trees and the hills. Also good sense of perspective with the fading mountains.

You picture is changing my plan for next trip...
I may have to return to China, and give up Sudan or Iraq.
Thank you for sharing the beauty you have collected along your path.
Best Wishes,
Thanh

Good photo of great location. Had always wondered what the paintings were based upon. Good balanced pic with trees opposite the mountains. Well done.

Hi Chris - I saw this by random and picked it because I'm contemplating a trip to China, and specifically, to this area this year, techinacal quality issues aside, the view is breathtaking.
