Photographer’s Note
this photo was taken in a very laid-back monastery that was in the process of being built. there was no one there but for all the artists involved in construction or decoration - i had a chat with the architect who was very happy to show me around and i was able to watch the artist how he fitted the huge clay hands of an oversized buddha statue.

I love this scene. The monumental feeling about the monastery, the mysterious woman with the kid, the strong horizontal lines and the moutain in the background.

even this is a beautiful composition.
if the toning and the contrast are slightly different, this will be a very powerful photograph
but the reason why i like this is because it's so different from what i usually get to see from tibet
i think after mccurry's photographs of tibet
i've hardly come across anything interesting
this is a nice one after a very long time
take care :)

Hi Sarah
waouuu !
very beautiful image. the compo is successful because it intercalates between the large size of background landscape and one of the building, a woman and a child. metaphorical.
contrast b& is good too.
congrats
Pascal

Bonita escena Sarah. La decisión de convertirla al blanco y negro es ideal ;-)
