Photographer’s Note
A local apartment building in downtown Nanjing (a one time capital of China). Hanging clothes out the apartment window is common all over China (except maybe in the north in winter where they are liable to freeze), but I've never seen it as prolific as in Nanjing.

Very well seen and captured. Looks like quite a mess with all those clotheslines criss crossing. Hanging clothes out of apartment windows is quite common in India as well.

A nice perspective - very interesting image, colours, shapes and clarity from top to bottom. A good take on daily life!

Amazing. They seem to have pretty advanved devices to get their clothes out in the wind and sun as well. I'm really attracted by the color scheme here, the olive green facade and the multicolor palette of the clothes made more concentrated by the strong contrast. The total chaos of clothes haning all over the place makes a nice composition.

Hey Josh,
A scene rarely seen nowadays here in Hong Kong. During the 80's I've seen a lot of these particularly in Kowloon side...I miss the old Hong Kong.
