This place brought me back a lot of happy and sad memories. I was brought up in this area New Territories in Hong Kong. There are 3 parts of areas that make up Hong Kong. They are Kowloon, Hong Kong Island and the New Territories.
I took this picture in 2010 when I visited my home town after 40 years of long period. I could not find any traces of what were there before. The huge ditch in the middle use to be a small river which I had caught so many fishes for lunch. The highway were not there and the road use to be a muddy road with rocks. Most of the trees were gone and replaced by cement forest. Thank for viewing

I can feel a touch of melancholy and disappointment in your note and this adds human feelings to your image. Progress it is called but we may wonder what it really is and if people are happier with all this concrete around. You have nice straight lines in your image and the light is very good.

This is a finely composed shot of the highway made meaningful by your note which is interesting but with a touch of sadness. The perspective is excellent and so are the details and the clarity. The colours are natural and the single tree adds good variety.
Thanks for sharing and have a great Sunday.

Magnificent picture with this game diagonals, which give the composition, the street and the bridge, which gives an image very well the atmosphere of the city.
Ideals these charming colors, in a picture perfect light, and with optimum sharpness.
Enjoy the weekend.
All the best.

Dobar tekst o mestu sa opisom ...
Dobar snimak, ostrina, kontrast i perspektiva, lepo pokazano mesto i arhitektura, lepe boje.
Dobra kompozicija, sve je vise betona oko nas.
Ostaju fotografije i secanja, sve se menja oko nas.
Sve najbolje za vikend, srecno.
A good article on the site with a description ...
Good shot, sharpness, contrast and perspective, nice place and demonstrated architecture, beautiful colors.
Good composition, more and more concrete about us.
Photographs and memories remain, everything changes around us.
All the best for the weekend, good luck.

The length of the street is givin depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and the colours of th architecture of the area. The good luminosity is enhancing the colours. Have nice day.

nice the view of this section of Hong Kong that was your childhood place, but in our days is changed permanently as you wrote in your note.I like the creative perspective as the depth of the scene with the light management to brings out the details of it.

I would be a shock to return to your childhood home after 40 years and find it so changed. Quite obviously this place didn't look like this in 1970. Your description means a lot for the understanding of this view. I wouldn't call it pretty, but in my imagination I can see the little girl with her fishing rod at the narrow river, then running home along the dirty road with her fresh catch. Only the sunshine would have been the same, everything else seems to have changed. This photo gets nostalgic even for me, who have never been here.
