Walking in Songpan old walled town always brings its lot of surprises. Never get bored and there's always is something to discover somewhat gives the feeling that I have been thrown back in time where life goes on at an age-old pace in those dark old small alleys.
This is a quick grab when a Hui woman in the setting becomes the focus of my attention. Sitting quite lonely and missing, in a dark corner of an old fashioned small bread shop, apparently one of the oldest shops here. Quite like the catch light on her face within the ambient and the surrounding textures giving even more atmosphere.
That was the effect I was after while vividly capturing the depth and glimpse of her expressions who was so involved in her own thoughts within the wooden framework.
Although it looks like it needs straightening it is actually this shape!

An interesting capture of this quite old wooden facade. Like the way you framed it concentrate on the box in the right corner. The hidden lady gave a nice touch to the scene. Well done! TFS!

amazing how this discreet and quiet lady, wearing colours similar to those of the surroundings and sitting still in a shady interior attracted your attention and became your intriguing focal point. We see only her right eye but her mood is quite apparent. Influenced by your note, I believe that this simple composition with the fine wooden textures and the mostly dark and harmonious colours reflects daily life in this village. Very effective work, congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

with keen eye one can really find some hidden gems in every town.Like You did here!Excellently noticed and executed street photo.I really enjoy the way you framed and timed the scene.Only partially visible woman and her facial expression are something exceptional here and definitely make your composition so attractive.
Have a nice sunday

I read your note and see your intention was to see the lady well framed. The lady adds interest to the composition , but I think the box with bread perhaps is grabbing more attention and has been better framed than the lady herself. This is a fine photo with excellent details of colours and textures. Very well seen and well taken, thanks for sharing.

You're capturing well thid scene by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the small bread shop whis is located to the small alley in Songpan. It's good at the contrast of old wooden/dark door/pillar and the frame with bright colors. It looks like the traditional building construction seen in a local city of China. And, the seller who is visible to the door draws out a deep effect in this image.

nice the view of the snapshot with the half of the woman's head to be hidden behind the wood construction. The waiting breads in the display window for the customers makes the image even more effective.Good this street reportage shot.

Ciao e buona domenica

yr dexterity on flashing the box foreword is adm, rable while a slight looking at the treshhold is also giving an intrigue. well-done my friend.

This is a surprising composition where the box with bread somewhat takes attention away from the woman standing in the doorway. It has become like two pictures in one. There is a fine, mysterious atmosphere created by the dark wood and the woman only partly seen in the darkness. On the other hand this darkness may have needed a brighter element to make the general view a bit livelier. So although this may not be one of your very best shots it is very interesting and well deserves a place on TE.

Well spotted, she is appears to be curious as to what you are doing, interesting breads for sale, love the dark brown of the shop with the contrasting colours from the glass cabinet.

Excellent detail photo in perfect light, very good clarity. The composition with the woman half-face and the colourful aquarium(?) is excellent. The well-chosen tight crop eliminates all unwanted distractions. Well done.

Impressive...I remember a similar picture which I had submitted for an online photo contest titled 'shops'. What I like most is how you created frames within frames...the hint of a face on the left and allowed the prominence of the breads to take the limelight if I may say so. Beautifully done!

Un cadrage intéressant, la vue a moitié de la dame qui ce confond presque aux couleurs sombre du bois, le pain attire l'attention, belle réalisation

A punny title, I thought you were talking about the bread window. I love these frames within frames.
