Photographer’s Note
Centuries old buildings and centuries old trees inside a walled property, 1/5th the size of the city. This is Confucius Temple. It is in the City of Qufu, Shandong Province, China. The walled area is 22 hectares and in it are 466 buildings. The temple is one of the three largest ancient architectural complexes in China. Laid on a north-south axis, the traditional Chinese complex resembles the Forbidden City in shape. The temple is actually a group of buildings inside the walled area. I took this photograph underneath another building foyer. Notice the yellow glazed tles halfway up the portion of the roof. The buildings are all like this. This is the first time I have seen Chinese buildings with combination yellow glazed tiles and blu-green glazed tile roofs. Most of the time the clay tile roofs are pre-finished with blue, red and yellow but one color for the whole roof.
This was taken by Canon EOS Rebel, print was scanned in HP 4570c. Picture was taken June 17, 1998.

Andre,
All of your Hong Kong / China shots are fantastic. This particular shot really reminds me of my time there. The pagoda roof, the deep red on the walls, and those wonderful trees!!
Thanks for sharing.
