Photographer's Note

Going from Shigatse (3840 mts, 12.600 ft) to Shegar (4050 mts,13.300 ft), we stopped to have lunch at a restaurant besides the route

It was a typical one with good food, barley bread, yak & mutton meat, mix of vegetables and tea

Tea
Due to the high altitude of Tibet, the water boils at 90 degree Celsius, and cooking with water is impossible
Tea from China and local Tibetan tea leaves are boiled in soda water, milk is drunk fresh or made yogurt

What Tibetans eat
The people in the higher altitudes generally consume more meat than those of the lower regions, where a variety of vegetables is available. Rice is generally restricted in consumption to rich families, southern border farmers, and monks

The photo
I liked the great contrast between the faded or w/b TV screen and the plenty of color counter
