Photographer’s Note
Getting a haircut in China is a nice experience. A shampoo and cut costs pennies. If you're lucky you'll get head massage too.

Hmmm... this is really my kind of photo. I get fascinated by old things in shop windows: old photos, old bleached objects... look at the nice shiny pompadour on some of those guys! But also of course they tell us so much about that world, the one you've captured. I wonder if you'd find such unhip old photos in any barber shops in China now?
Anyway, I love the composition, the way the boy and barber are out of focus, and are perfectly exposed. In fact, now that I say that, I guess I'd prefer the images on the right to be a little more exposed and contrasty. But this pic wasn't processed in PS, I'm guessing :)...
Also love the colours, pink towel, red hand-written sign in bottom left window, green windowpane divider thingie (what is the word for that?). I'd love to see a photo taken inside the shop. Looks like nice indirect light.

This is really a neat photo. The fact that the window is a bit scratched, with some glare really kind of makes the photo. Just a really nice everyday photo. I like the way the little guy has his head down, too...it does bring back memories.
