This photo was taken from a pedestrian bridge in the Quarry Bay area of Hong Kong Island.

This taxi driver seemed quite angry - not because the policeman had caught him parking in a no parking zone - but because another taxi had quickly driven off before the policeman pulled up.

Keeping in line with my current series of bird shots, I was thinking of calling this one "Jail Bird".

Scavenger Hunt: Something Red (as I have another shot for Taxi.)

Tech: Cropped, resized and sharpened. Added black border.

Excellent composition Andrew of a fine capture. Details and colors are nicely rendered, but it is the diagonal position of the taxi in the tightly cropped frame that makes this image, at least to my eye. I love the reflection of the driver on the "bonnet" of the taxi. Great scavenger hunt contribution. Fine work.

I agree with Curtis on diagonal position and tight framing. I also like how those red and yellow elements break the rhytm of black and white colors. Interesting POV, too.
Very well seen and captured, Andrew.

Excellent "plongée", and very good situation cought.
Well framed, and good moment to be photographied, the positions are realy telling the story.
I like it

The police man in all calmness are work busy, the taxie driver, tink an are colleague, but this help all not, you picture Andrew is absolutely not bad, the shadows of the two man are a nice detail.
Greetings John.

what a very nice image, I liek the angle in which you took it, very good work

A well-seen incident here, Andrew, that you managed to get a nice diagonal framing of. The placement of the two people in the upper right area makes for a very good compo, and the reflections on the hood are a nice detail. Good entry for the hunt indeed.
I like the "jail bird" idea ;-)

Oh very clever title and motif as well - even from the back can I see that this driver not in a pleasent mode - thanks Andrew for this daliy life document.

I was a little busy this morning :-) The diagonal place of the car and the framing just excellent.

It is great to catch to hunts in one photo, Andrew. Excellent capture with a very effective diagonal presntation. I wish that we could see the faces :-) )-:

A very pleasing composition, Andrew, with a tight crop - which you do very well. The two-colored taxi placed in a diagonal position works well, almost dividing the image in two equals, with the policeman and driver in the upper right part - both with very characteristic attitudes. You certainly found a nice POV for this shot. A nice detail is the inclusion of the taxi sign on the roof. I guess this 'bird' isn't flying. Very well done!

Strong diagonals in the basic layout. The poses are interesting too, two pewrsons that have to communicate but not really want too - turning towards each other but only as much as necessary to get the job done.

last one for a while...
No time sorry. I am moving.
Happy new year to you and your family.

Good catch Andrew. The angle of this shot is really well done and the tight cropping gives us a good feel for the scene. Both titles work... So the police officer is wearing a helmet, was he on a motorcycle?

You got to be fast whenever you are in Hong Kong. It is hard to escape ticket. Pay more attention. Taxi driver

Great view and a great title. Had to laugh, especially as it involves a taxi. Wonderful use of color. Well done.

Good shot, this is one scene that I have always wanted to capture on camera but am yet to do so. Seems you have beaten me :)

Hi Andrew,

Very good, original and creative angle on this «daily life» scene. I like the posture of the two protagonists, as you can feel there attitude and state-of-mind.

Catchy composition, great framing and efficient story-telling.

André
