Photographer’s Note

I could not breathe well enough this high up, to walk to a temple along a cliff edge, in a cave. So I sat in the car doorway, when someone took my hand and held it. It was this little boy. He held my hand with the remains of his burned hands. He took me across the road to his village. He can smile, even though most of his face is gone. He was burned all over his body by a cooking fire. It is a miracle he lived, yet his life must be sad to us. There was no medical care for him in a poor village in barren Tibet. I can only tell you, I felt such love in this child's hand. Scanned from my photo, long ago.
