Photographer’s Note

Depending upon where you are sitting, lunch could be available. This is a typical corner eating spot in Bengbu town, a small rural community some distance from West of Nanjing in China. These small towns don't often see foreigners and people here are friendly, yet somewhat shy. It is great to see China away from the main tourist places, viewing it in real daily life from a small town.

It was a very dark, rainy day in Bengbu.

That's the China I saw in the 1980s, I really enjoyed it. What you find today, all these AC restaurants, they are not China, they could be anywhere. The dogs checks the cat which obviously has found something. Noise, I do not see it. However it is sharp and crisp with a great DOF. Well done

Hi David, indeed, it looks like real China, not so easy to find it in big cities (and are the towns in China not big?:)) . vVery natural shot, I like it. I cannot see what I could have here for lunch? Probably no jiaozi:). I like the view of the cat, rather skinny and a dog watching it. Nice shot.

Hello David,
A good moment of the corner eating spot has been well captured though it's a little pity to have cut the kitten's face. A leading line of the dog, the kitten and the lady is also very nice. I like this a little busy image a lot.
