Photographer’s Note
I have often photographed PanJiaYuan the open market in South Beijing. A favorite place of mine. It is the way items are displayed that interests me - such a mixture of items. Here I find the blend of both things and colors of interest. Old and new - dull and shinny.
The market started in 1992. It was then a real dirt place and early morning sales were of real unique things. Unique things are here but expensive now and many are fakes. Priced often the same.
