Photographer’s Note
Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.
-- Siddhartha Gautama, Gautam Budh, Lord Buddha
I took this picture of the 'tin tan Buddha' enroute to the monestary at Lantau Island from a cable car.

Hello Kamran,
The classic composition, the impressive silhouette, the perfect inclusion of those trees to give an idea of the size of the statue, the perfect large and pure white frame...all this makes this my favourite shot in your China gallery so far.
Cheers.

Hello Kamran,
The composition, the very subtle colours, the silhouette of the Buddha's right hand and your note make this a restful picture to cherish for a while.
Thanks for sharing,
Gert

Hi Kamran,
impressive figure! I like how the light here creates some kind of eerie atmosphere. The overall execution is a bit soft to my taste though. THink you could have gone for a higher f-stop for a bit more sharpness....Still, I like your shot.

Hi Kamran. Very nice and serene photo of the Buddha statue, well framed and with a dream-like quality due to the misty setting. I like that you kept the subtle colors, and didn't change completely to black & white.

Hi Kamran,
I also like the subtle and soft gray-blue tone here. The composition is very good, literally emphasizing the rising by following the hill slope line, and perfect placing the statue in the frame.
cheers,
Cristian

Hello Kamran, I like your note, a little reminder that we should be happy just be alive, something that I often forget. This has a nice peaceful mood about it, I think the enlightened one & the misty almost BW look combine to create this atmosphere.
Nice one

Hello Kamran,
I have been to Lantau and near this big statue, but unfortunately I did not climb up to the very top (which I terribly regret!) Next time, then... because in the future I hope to come to Hong Kong again to refresh my memories.
Excellent composition, and the colours make the photo a little mysterious and philosophic. Very well done, indeed!
Best regards,
Elena
