Photographer’s Note
As best I can I aim to take photos that tell a story or at least imply some action is taking place. People here seem poised as if in a movie, ready for the call to "action". Roasting below are corn and pancakes (Chinese style). The cook seems intent. The scene's focus is on center stage and the "look" - as eyes seem ready for serious words. (ready for war). Perhaps the others have been through this before.
The scene is in Lijiang China located in South West China. People dress as they once did some 100 years or more ago and people come from all over China to experience China from a more interesting and perhaps romantic past. Not sure I see warmth at this moment however.

Hello David,
I always enjoy a lot such scenes which you manage to capture with your camera! But first, of course, it is your eyes which see them :) В you have a 6th sense of being attracted to those places which offer you interesting subjects for your photos?? I wish I could do the same in Moscow@ But perhaps for this I will need a very small camera with a BIG zoom!
Very interesting scene, full of emotions! Excellent composition. And of course, I always admire the natural colours.
warmest greetings from Moscow!

There is certainly a story here David - reading the eyes and attitudes - the involvement of three and seeming disengagement of the other is a wonderful game - nicely rendered for colour and contrast - perhaps nit the strongest compositional geometry but difficult to catch all of these inter-relationships with a conventional device and keep the interesting contextual elements of the place in frame.
best wishes Kev
