Photographer’s Note
I spent my Chinese New Year in a small village, just an hours drive across the border, in mainland China.
While the village would not be called 'rich' by Hong Kong standards, the people were extremely friendly and the children were incredibly free to run around the streets and the fields in total safety. (Which is richness in itself!)
On one of my many walks I passed this little boy, who was very friendly and posed for me as soon as I waved my camera at him (which is a first for me and I have been a member of TE since 2003!).
When his little sister appeared on the scene, she was less willing, but her brother gently 'pulled' her into position.
Still, she kept staring at my Chinese friend, who was standing behind me and trying to reassure her. My friend grew up in the village and he said I was probably the first foreigner to visit the village.

Hello Andrew,
very good double portrait :)) Really very pleasant and filled with a good mood!
A good note to the photo, too ;)
best regards,
Elena
PS. I have browsed a little about your website dedicated to teaching English, if you don't mind :) I have not explored all of its materials yet, but those I have seen are very useful (I would not mind using some of them at my lessons!). I teach English individually, too, though English is not my native tongue. Anyway more and more often I find it much easier to express my thoughts in English rather than in Russian... :-/
I have loads of various exercises and other stuff which I prepare for my students for each lesson but so far I have not posted any of them on the Net. Maybe I should follow your example and share some :-)

Hello Andrew,
I have a similar photo from Laos with a couple of children a little bit younger that them.Nice the pose of the two children in front of your lens with the boy to be more comfortable.Indeed the children in Laos lived in a poor village but were all politeness and proud.Well done.
Regards,Danos
