Photographer’s Note
Thia phto was taken in the Beijing Ancient Observatory. Showing astronomical measuring instruments from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the last two dynasties of the Imperial China, they are above all art pieces. On this photo I tried to capture a detail of the armillary sphere.
Some of the celebrity astronomers of this time include the Jesuit priest Verbiest.
