Silkroad travels: Tien Shan mountains

Taishan lake (1'907 m asl.) is mainly fed by glacier meltwater. The suspended very fine sand gives the turquoise colour to the lake, like in the case of the Brienzer See in Switzerland.
In the background I present our last summit of the tour, the Bogda Feng (5'445 m), to the left. Chinese tourists are trekking to that region, some are climbing up the peak.

Das sieht wirklich alpin - im echten Sinne - aus, aber Deine Höhenangaben machen diesen Eindruck zunichte. Eine wunderschöne Landschaft, die ja wohl auch schon Touristen anzieht. Dieses herrliche Foto ist eine echte Werbung! ;-)
