Silkroad travels: Kashgar
We have arrived in the river oasis of Kashgar, at the border of the Taklamakan desert. You see a muslim cemetery with the gümbez (گنبد ) of wealthier people. At the horizon you notice an aspen forest. The sand, carried with the desert wind, clouds the sky during hot days.
In "View: map" I indicate the center of the oasis, not this particular place. By zooming out you will notice the impressive size of the oasis and understand that it was at all times a "must" for any Silk road caravan. |

Hey Dietrich,
Yet again a wonderful motive, captured well. Lovely composition, and a bunch of wonderfully colored buildings. The background is equally attractive with the forest. Great sharpness and clarity.
Enjoy.

Hallo Dieter!
Frank
