Hi Cal,

For the surrounding alone, this shot possess the "being there" factor. I like how the light falls on the entry door and accessories. Tight cropping conveys a "visual stress" that accentuate a sense of intimacy.

Good posture and photogenic outfit. Nice overall colours, with white shirt and face standing out.

Ooh... Caleb! There is a strong soul in this image! I love the environnment, which, along with the nonchalant posture of the man, has an intense impact on my imagination. Seeing this image makes me dream to the marvels you would do in Pakistan or Afghanistan! The colors are great, warm, inviting. The rustic character of the place, with a great sharpness on the textures, shines literally under a beautiful light. I just regret the feet cut (I don't mind for the turban though). Kudos!

Hello Caleb ,
I'm not a specialist at all (and i try to learn when i look at portraits). So , I can see that you've cropped the top of the hat , and the shoe in the low part . Is it a choice to provide a interesting effect ? I think so , because the composition is very attractive : the attitude of the man , and its surrounding : the old door , the round bag .
Of course , light and sharpness are outstanding .
