Photographer’s Note
Sayram Lake (also known as Santai Haizi), is the highest and largest alpine lake in the Xinjiang Province. This photo was taken on a very warm day in late June. The lake was being enjoyed by numerous locals and local tourists. In July, thousands of local Mongols will come to the lake for a three day festival. I took the photo of the boy as he was looking toward the lake. He did not know I was taking his picture until he turned and saw me. Later, I showed him how to skip flats rocks of the lake. His friends then joined in and there were about 6 of us all skipping rocks off the water.

Hi Michael,
Welcome to TE. I am also new here.
Nice photo, the child's face is interesting and the colours are nice. However, these are not sufficient for a greta photo. Having said this, I am not a great photographer myself. It was just an introduction to a very useful first lesson I learnt from a comment that I take care to apply now. Look for alternative compositions and angles than just putting the subject in the middle of the photo.
Hope to see more of your photos and please c ome and visit mine. Comments most welcome.
Best,
Petek
