[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Mustagh ata 7546 m is located in Xin jiang province in China, just next to Karakoram highway. The name means father of the ice mountains but i think it have a rather feminine look :)
If you are on the way from Pakistan or on the way to, it's easy accessible, just tell the bus driver Karakuli hu and he will drop you next to the Very beautiful Karakul lake.

Karakul lake is just located at the foothills to Mustag ata. At day time the lake have turquoise color but it change depend on the sun.

It's easy to find accommodation and food in the small huts around the lake.

Behind Karakul lake, if you heading from Kashgar you also have Kon gur Mountains 7719m. If you take a walk around the lake you will also see Camel teams and it's a truly spectacular view to see the lake, the camels and the snowcapped mountains in the background.

It's one of the most beautiful parts of China i would say.

fantastic landscape shot, Daniel, love the crisp and clear colours. I also like how you show the different layers of the mountains, together with the soft clouds it creates a strong sense of depth to the scene. one comment though - I might prefer a composition more to the right, the mountain on the left seems less interesting that the converging slopes on the right.
and what are the objects in the foreground? it would be interesting to know to appreciate the scale of the mountains. still, excellent shot.
wishing you a happy New Year,
Kristine

Hi Daniel,
Wonderful landscape, lovely light and colours on your shot, well framed, good exposure, tfs.

Nice mixture of colours. Spectacular landscape. I never set foot there but flew over Xinjiang with excellent weather and had good views from the plane...
