[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photo is taken at the Karakul lake area, not so far from Taskurgan, which borders Tajikistan. This is teh Pamir area, the altitude is around 3500ms and the mountain in the background is 7700... So the view is really breathtaking! The locals are Kirgiz people, whose houses are these jurt which you can see in the picture. They lead very simple life. I think in Xinjiang maybe this is the most amazing destination, at least for me...

I am surprised to find so many shots of yours that have received no attention! I really enjoy this shot for its unusual POV. I say unusual because it is not often that the in-focus subject seems to be left as a secondary part of the image.
I think your note explains it quite a bit: you were fascinated with the place and the mountains, yet still trying to show how and where people live. You might have chosen a different POV to focus more on the mountain range behind (and get it properly exposed) all the while maintaining the jurts in view... how you would have done that? I'd need to come by and see the terrain for that ;D

But I enjoy the shot as it is! It does blow us away by the over-exposed whiteness of the mountains and the darker foreground but it still has a particular charm that is unmistakably present.

How is travelling in this region of China?

Thanks for sharing such an unusual and absolutely beautiful view! All the best,
Julia
