Photographer’s Note

The secnod of my photos uploaded from Bodga Shan in the TianShan mountains.

Copied and pasted from previous entry:

"I believe this mountain to be Mount Bogda (Bodg Uul), although no one there could give me a definate answer so it may be a different un-named mountain.

This area of China is unique as in many ways it's really not China at all. Everything is in Arabic language, Chinese is poorly understood (or spoken with a really heavy accent), the majority of the population is either Ughir or Kazak, the food and architecture are different, and the way of life is completely different to the rest of China.

I took this photo from high up one side of a valley at TianChi (Heavenly Lake) in the TianShan mountains north of Urumqi. If this is Mount Bogda, it stands 5445m (17,864ft) tall and wasn't first climbed until 1981."

Shot Details:

It doesn't look too different from the original shot. All I've done is to increase the levels of red in the curves to bring the sky alive a little (because there was no other red in the picture), and decreased the low end mid level greens in the curves. After this I've increased midtone contrast as the whole photo is pretty much mid tone.

Let me know what you think!
