Guten Morgen Dieter!
Das sieht nach einem Turnier aus. Mir gefällt hier insbesondere der fachkundige und kritische Ausdruck auf den Zuschauer-Gesichtern. Auch hier hattest Du wieder schwieriges Licht - aber das fotografische Ergebnis kann sich sehen lassen!

I really like this picture! You have a great point of view from where you are standing.

The game they are playing is called 'Xiang Qi' or '象棋'. It is the Chinese version of chess. It is quite similar to the chess you may be familiar with, with each piece having it own move. The main difference in the pieces go on the lines instead of in the box. We saw so many people on the side of the street playing this, so I decided to learn how to play it. It is really good fun! I suppose you could play for money, but I haven't heard of that before.

The game you mentioned 'Wei Qi' or '围棋' is quite different. It involves lots of black and white pieces and basically you have to surround you opponents piece to change in to you colour, I think! I don't really no how to play Wei qi, but Xiang qi is a great game!
