Silkroad travels: a Dentist's heaven

Here you are in a part of Kashgar (Yunmulakxia lu) where Uighur Chinese live and work. Some buildings are in bad need of repair. Instead of renovating them they often demolish them, much to the dismay of tourists who seek the ambiance of this ancient Silk Road hub. Notice that the older signs are exclusively written in Arabic. I'm sorry to have violated the Islamic tradition of not taking a picture of women. Here women traditionally wear brown scarves.

Hallo Dieter!
Großartige Balkone! Was muss deren Herstellung für eine Arbeit gewesen sein. Heute hängt man sie mit dämlicher Werbung zu ...Man kann in Deinem Bild unendlich viel entdecken, u.a., dass die Straße sehr sauber ist. So eine Melone (sh. rechts ;-) würde mir jetzt schmecken!
Ein schönes Wochenende aus dem nieselregnerischen Westfalen!

Hello Dietrich,
This is a lovely street view. The architecture is wonderful. I like all of the arches and the faded colors on the facade. It is also interesting to see all of the signs, and the people buying watermelons on the side of the road.
