[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The ancient townish site was found during our trekking expedition across the Eastern Taklamakan and Kuruktag Desert in Xinjiang Province, China.(the lop nur salt lake region lies in between of them). It could be proved to be a very important regality and merchant exchange site on the Northern and Central routes of the Silk Road, as it situated right onthese route.

P.S. literature review and further researches are still going on, since there is still doubt about which site/regality it was exactly as referring to the historical records.

close your eyes and imagine the crowd and liveliness of ancient times...this place was the Manhattan of more than 2000 years ago.....

Welcome to TE! Thank you to share this good informative picture about an ancient city. How many places have we to rediscover in China!! It is a so large country, and so an ancient civilization.

Bravo!
Livia

Hi there,

I'd be curious to know what places you visited in this region. Is this a Loulan, Miran, or another ancient town?

;)
