Photographer's Note

Today I will try to do something I don't do very often - post a landscape photo :O) It's from my first trip to Tibet in 2001 and it's scanned.

On the old road between Gyantse and Lhasa - from the summit of the Kamba-la pass (4.794 m) - you can see Yamdrok Tso (4.488m). A coiling, many-armed body of water shaped like a scorpion. For Tibetans, it's one of the four holy lakes of Tibet and devouted Tibetan pilgrims circumambulate the lake - a walk of around seven days.

I can recommend to drive down to the lake and enjoy your lunch surrounded by the the most spectacular landscape :O)
