Visiting the Potala Palace

Only 2300 tickets are issued each day, 1600 for the travel agents and 700 for individual tourists )being now not allowed )
The visit of Potala Palace is set strictly,all tourists have to enter from the east main entrance( this stair)
time is limited in 1 to 1.5 hours

Besides
Be aware of the taboos of Tibetan Buddhism during the visit.
Don't wear a hat or sunglasses; don't step on the doorsill; don't smoke in the halls; don't take photos in the palace although it is allowed outside the palace

Meaning of Potala
Potala named after a holy hill in South India is a Sanskrit word meaning "Abode of the Avalokitesvara (Buddha of Mercy).

Voilà une très belle façon de découvrir ce Palais. Apprendre également les us et coutumes auxquelles les touristes doivent respecter. Le cadrage est excellent pour donner toute l'ampleur de l'édifice.

This picture reminds me of climbing the 146 steps of Ganden Sumtseling Monastery in Zhongdian Tibetan county in nothern Yunnan which was built in the style of this Potala Palace. A real test of mental and physical strength but finally made it. You now how many steps are here?
Your pov is great as it extends the depth immencely with good sense of height and scale reference, while viewers are being lead smoothly to the peak. Lighting is good, exposure is so balanced throughout and excellent coloring too, shaded by equally wonderful sky. Congrats, TFS

a wonderful and impressive composition from a bold upward point of view. The result is amazing depth and perspective and a superb division of the frame between the Palace and the sky which accentuates its high placement and grandeur. The people give a useful sense of scale and we easily associate with their wonderment. nos ofreces un buen ángulo visual en este encuadre, que nos permite apreciar las dimensiones del palacio gracias a la presencia de la gente en la escalera, que es una excelente referencia.
Me gustan la perspectiva de la arquitectura, la buena luz y la calidad de los colores, en una imagen nítida y bien equilibrada.

este es un sitio que quiero conocer, la imagen no es la habitual que vemos, me gusta esta perspectiva con las escaleras como protagonistas, la presencia de la gente es un buen detalle,

Le soleil masqué adoucit les ombres.
Le point de vue est excellent; attention à la luminosité du ciel qui influence le capteur vers un léger assombrissement.
Pour les déformations optiques ce n'est pas possible avec un compact grand angle. Seul le Post processing peut arranger un peu, c'est ce que j'ai fait en WS.

Fabulosa perspectiva la de este famoso y maravilloso palacio, es una construccion de una gran belleza, diferente y muy atractiva, aqui nos muestras un magnifico POV, en este corte diagonal de la construccion que contrasta con la gran belleza del cielo.

Not a common POV of the Potala! And reading your note I was not aware of so many restrictions in place! Your captured this well, giving us the sense of height. One can get an idea of the scale given the size of the people. Well done!
