This was taken in the Xiaqun Forestry Centre about 50km from Xining City. What the woodland is famous for is Xiazong Temple.
In China, a few temples are famous for being built hanging on cliffs, most wellknown one being Xuankong Temple, and Xiazong being one of them as well.
A pavilion of Xiazong Temple was built on top of the hill, looking down from where is the green valley in which the windbells resonate.
The dark green ones are pine trees, while the light green are poplars.
Will follow up with some pictures of Xiazong Temple, which I believe is a must in your tour to Qinghai.
