Photographer’s Note
In most of the scenic spots in West China, you can catch the sight of a woman or a man, just like her in the picture, out there by the roadside, with some horses or a sheep, waiting for the tourists to take a ride or a picture with. Maybe they are from a very conservative culture which could have drastically different conception of their life in the past. However, modern industries like tourism are changing their life and history with an astonishing speed.

This is a very nice shot, I think...very nice. I love the expression on her face and the clothes and headband she's wearing, just really very colorful. With your note, it's thought-provoking that she's waiting for tourists to come for a ride, but there's still a feeling of the past in her, and in her horses, too. I love the saddle and blanket on the one on the right. Very nicely photographed!

I'm touched by this photo because I like horses particularly the variety of harnessing that we don't find in France. She's got a nice face expression.
