Kid-play in Yuanyang • V
*First of all, I found this in dictionarydotcom:
kin•der•gar•ten (k n d r-gär tn, -dn) n. Abbr. K A program or class for four-year-old to six-year-old children that serves as an introduction to school.
*Now, imagine you come to a kindergarten and give to any kid here a bottle of ink, a pen, a knife and a note book. Are you expecting this child to write a poem, to compose a song, or to draw a picture? — No?. You are absolutely correct.
*The true story:
I am such a kid who used to be OK with my normal bottle of milk (Microdol-X, D-72, D-76, Stop Bath, Hypo)— but not with digital stuffs.
Then, my wife gave me her approval, that I could go for a month, on her expense. My son secretly funneled to me his $$$$, with the request that I must not let his mom know in order for me to spend from both sources. Canon built the digital camera and Sandisk manufactured the flashcard. A young TE member let me borrow his light tripod, and Thien in Canada gave me some crash-courses on shooting D10 and storage for the RAW files into CompactDrive PD Serial… Armed with plenty of factors, off I flew toward Yunnan, China. The worst of all was that I cheated myself that I knew how to play with all these toys at the same time. In addition, I landed Kunming Airport with missing luggage, without Chinese language. No tours booked, no smiling guide with welcome poster at airport terminal. Returning home, I messed with Canon digi-software, C1 Pro and Photoshop CS. Oh my God, what a nice crime contributed by many accomplices!
Well, tell me how may I make this digital photograph worse!
The picture you have in front right now is the result of my illiteracy. And this is my own indictment. If you ask me how did I do this, I don’t know what to say (didn’t you ever get lost in internet or photoshop?). If you demand me to have a title, I would label this “kid-play”, I meant a mess by an aged kid.
Location name: Yuanyang [ in Vietnamese: Nguyên Dương ], Yunnan Province, South China.

Wonderful photographic description of how could human kind use the bare hands to charge mountains and rivers, in order to gain the daily meals.
You stated that this is a mess, but I like it, no matter by your hands or local minority people bare hands.
Thanks. I am looking for more postings on this rare & remote destination.

Amazing landscape. This shot makes me really want to go to Vietname. aa...budget problem here. Peasants in that place probablly have much hard works everyday going up and down in the hills, I suppose.

Amazing shot..it!s rarely happens to have a chance to see something like this.. double wow! for your shot, ngythanh
oko (239) 2010-09-16 15:38
Excellent point of view. I like how the composition captures the curves of the teraces all the way down these hills, with barely any straight line in the picture. Looks like an abstract painting. Simply fantastic!
