Lugu Lake Rainbow
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Lugu Hu (Lugu Lake) is on the border of Yunnan and Sichuan Provinces in southwest China. This is the home to a number of Chinese minorities, including the Mosuo and Pumi people.
Both of these groups of people have a very interesting history and culture; the Pumi are known for their long traceable migration path, and the Mosuo for their matriarchal society and "walking marriage" custom. (Have fun researching this on the web.)
We spent a few nights in the village of Luoshui, and had a chance to explore the surrounding area. There is a huge amount of construction happening in the village, as the Chinese government is investing to make the shores of Lugu Lake a tourist destination. One can not help wonder what the fate of these unusual cultures will be. |

Hi Alan,
Great rainbow, it's not easy to catch, I tried several times without success...

Hello Alan,
This is a exquisite shot, displaying superb composition, perspective, colors and resolution. I cannot believe that 131 viewers have "strolled by" this image with only one person before me appreciating it fully.
Thank you also for the personal note -- that you grew up in Bethesda, and studied mathematics, before defecting to architecture.
Warm regards,
Bulent
Exellent light. Good POV and exposure. Alfred
i like the compo a lot. that gloomy look makes that rainbow "pop out" a lot!
