I took this whilst travelling up north of Lijiang towards Tibet but still in Yunan.

Well basically my friend and I hired a taxi for our 7 day venture and each day only costed 60 U.S dollars for travelling over 400 km to 500 km each day, to and from the place of our desire.

On the way we approached this young lady, so we decided to slow our taxi driver down a bit, so we could take a photo of her, I sent this picture because it caught her moving and because of her curious face too.

Well in her basket there were rocks and I think it wasnt too pleasant for her because she had to walk for over 3 to 4 hours to the next village (because we didnt see any houses in between the town we saw before to the next town) to deliver or take home for her parents. We did feel very sorry for her and we did think in our minds to help her, but she would probably freak out and run.

The place were in had 28 minorities of people and we passed most of them.

You've captured an interesting fleeting moment here Daniel, the girl falls along one of the lines of strength (ala Rule of Thirds) and between the two distant hills. The story really fleshes her out very well; a grim, harsh life but one beyond your control.

A good bit of documentary photography.

Nice in daily life categories shots.
I like a innocence in her face,With simple & lovely hair array.it's a semi-dynamic shot,too.

Your picturre is great, good idea and composition. The title I don't know:
I grew up on the concrete of a large city surrounded with haste, business, car, smell, pollution, aggresivity etc...
What is worse?
At least she remember her daily life with ptide.

A very candid and genuine shot, Dan, of good documentary value. I won't repeat listing some of the shortcomings that the others already mentioned, I like this shot for its honesty, and I like the look of the girl that to me seems to suggest a mixture of determination and being cautious. The colors are good, too, and you wrote a fine note.

Wonderful capture, Daniel! that girl seems quite absorbed in her tough job and in a hurry. Her face expression is very impressive as speaks of a hard life. I like the way you presented the landscape in background. Very well done!

It's a still shot and yet there is much movements in it. The colors are ok, but I think you oversharpened it a little bit. Also, it's pity the right foot of the girl is cut off, but understadable because you had to act quicky as you were passing by while in the car.

A couple of minor points. The tree appears to be growing out of the basket, the foot is cropped & the image needs to be sharper. Still a good daily life record shot. Moving subjects are never easy to get in sharp focus.

Je Trouve l'effet de vitesse trés bon avec ce flou et la personne a été prise a un bon moment.
Juste un petit bemol le pied coupé mais rien de bien mechant.

I like this picture, its very very very sad, it is shame that she cannot go to school because of her hard labour. Now in the 21st century there is still poverty in China and it is difficult for many famillies in the countryside..... it is a pity that she is living in such terrible circumstances.

We are living in such good lives, but she can see we are.
