Photographer’s Note
This is from one of the major temples in Kunming city in Yunnan province. Unfortunately I don't remember which one. Not even my diary from that journey in 1986 indicates clearly where I took this picture. Anyway, here's a little boy lighting an incense stick. The smoke will - if I understand it correctly - signify the separation of the pure from the impure and symbolize the human body as a meeting-place for heaven and earth.
Scanned from a Kodaschrome slide.

Hej Gert,
Very good colours here, the red, black and yellow in the clothes are nicely matching the colours of the incense sticks. Nothing to distract, just harmony!

Hi Gretz,
I have always admire the philosophy of Far East, and seen a traditionalized belief in a photo is almost like a jewel for me.
Although I read your intro and got that TE is a professional hobby for you, I have to admit your archieve of photography impressed me a lot. 1986!!! I was just a baby!...
Many thanks for sharing and your worthy note
Greetings,
Burcu
