Photographer’s Note
In 2005, my mother and I spent three and a half weeks travelling in China. It was a fascinating and eye-opening experience.
Sights like these were not unusual--it was a daily reality for some, as they plodded between the apartments buildings and grocery stores. It was probably one of the most remarkable things about the cities, even comparitively small ones like Kunming: the striking contrast between the old and the new, as though two separate worlds were living side by side. And the livestock? Where did they keep the livestock? Things like that, one never seems to find out. My heart goes out to the pony. So small, with such a load.
The only post-processing I have done has been to crop the original, convert it to sepia, and increase the contrast.

Shazza,
What a nice image depicting daily life in part of China. I like the crash of the pass, the horse cariage and the current architecture. Makes it interesting photo. Well seen and well presented in sepia tone. Per half not so yellow, just my opinion. beautiful image. Thanks and welcomes to TE. I did a workshop, hope you don't mind. Let me know what you think.
