Photographer’s Note

Photography is about light, and I was fortunate to walk by this place in just the right light to catch the shadows of this open window. I was walking through the narrow, labyrinthine alleys in neighbourhoods near my home, looking for photo ops. Some of those places are only a couple metres wide, and see very little direct sunlight on any given day; I've been back a couple times, but it was just dull, lifeless concrete... the window for getting such images is quite a short one.

A great time here to shot your camera!
I like so much the resulting game of light/shadows got on that wall.
It looks like a duoton, the colour of the wall is so dull, like you said.
It's very good your POV and the composition made with the windows and its shadows.

Great POV and a very nice graphism in this pic. I like the mono-color composition and the feeling of light here.

Well done for spotting the potential of these long shadows, their strong graphic shapes give the image a strong impact.
I also like your dynamic composition and tight framing; it works well.
You're right Andre, photography is about light - something many of us sometimes forget. It's especially important with black and white photography, and this scene, with it's strong light and shadows, could have been made for mono.
