Photographer's Note
The Stone Forest near Shi Lin, about 40 km east of Kunming in Yunnan. The "forest" is actually limestone karst pillars eroded into weird shapes by humic acid from vegetation. This area had its heaviest snow in 80 years the following day.

Hi Chris,
Interesting stone formations, good sharpness in your photo, as well as rendering of the colors, I like the zigzagging path the eye is tempted to follow, actually looking at the well maintained trees it looks more like a park than a wild forest !
Have a nice day, Jean-Yves

Fascinating combination of the formal green gardens with these weird limestone formations. I love the path snaking through the shot, and the haphazard arrangement of the clipped shrubs and the stones. Nice shot, Chris.

Very exotic landscape you present here. Colors are very nice, and contrasts of textures are well managed. The composition is well balanced. Nice view of this unusual geological phenomenon. Well done !

Great stone formations on this site, Chris. As mentioned by the others, the curving path was well included for the compo, and the saturated colors look good as well. The green trees/bushes look quite a bit too groomed for my liking, but that's of course nothing to blame you for :-)

Wow I love the look of this place. The sceanery is quite constrasting and beutifull. Hard to beleive that a snowfall was coming. The greens look like summer to me. Nice one.

Being busy for sometimes now and when I got back to seeing my friends, what a surprise in store. This is simply lovely Chris. The green is just so captivating and the rocks, strangely just as much. This is really one big landscape of natural art I would say.

A nice creation of nature, Chris. The palm trees look a bit un-connected, I'd prefer yo see a natural type of plantation, but you couldn't do anythin about it, I guess. Still, the trees give us a good feelinf of how tall the stones are. A very interesting shot.

Intresting shot!
I like the composition with the gras, rocks, path and bushes. Quite an unusual "forest", but it must be great to walk there.
