Sai Kung Peninsula,

The Ghost town of Northern Hong Kong. We took the MTR half way and then a mini bus to find this elegantly almost deserted town. The main town is a former fishing village so there were a lot of boats docked at the bay. There were also many seafood restaurants.

I dont mean to deface the reputation of the place but it seemed as though the place was neglected. Desipte a large number of boats on the water there weren't many people in the town nor on the water. The fishing boats were more like house boats such as the one in the picture.

Even with the place being as deserted as it was, it had a strange kind of charm, the kind of charm you would find in a carnival after it had closed for the day. The silent warmth of the fun-rides which had just retired after a day's work could be felt at Sai Kung, the boats closely docked in the water, house boats, and yet no soul to inhabit them, a kind of a mystery really.

Nice, still image, Kamran. Sharp and well composed. One notices a proliferation of squares and rectangles. Very pleasing to th eye. Best, -Hugh

Hi Kamran,
Nice sharp image, the things I keep looking at are the outboard motor wrapped in a tarp to protect it from the weather & the blanket because of it's lighter colour & patterns.
Nice daily life shot and an interesting note.
Thanks
Santo

Kamran, the frame is a bit tight though we have to assume and wider frame could help to recognize easily.
