Photographer's Note
Tai O gained this title with canals between buildings and water transport. For this remote village on the north west end of Lantau Island in Hong Kong that's about where the similarity stops. Once dependant on fishing and salt panning, this rare link with Hong Kong's past has now become a weekend tourist destination, probably just in time to save it from oblivion.
