Photographer’s Note
On this particular day, my uncle ( my mothers brother) took us on a ride in his car all over Hong Kong and obviously he knew that I wanted to take pictures, so he took us to this fish market where the fishermen sold their live fish from their boats which was fascintaing.
This place was taken in Sai Kung in the New Territories
This particular boat had sold all its goods and was returning home with the hard earned cash.
I will post you another picture with the fishermen and the customers, the people there were very chatty and friendly.
I just loved the mist just under the mountain here.
A funny thing happened to be whilst walking because this Italian man bumped into me and asked if I was a photo journalist, I said no and then he said he was and thought we worked in the same field. Thats kind of funny hey!!!
I hope you like the pic

hi daniel, thats an exceptional picture: the mysterious darkness of the seaskape makes this a tremendous photo; great, and good you're back

... and I do like such moods, too, Daniel. A fine composition, deviding the shot to thirds and positioning the boat to one of the golden section points. Great monochrome shot, runs very well with the muted colours of the boat. Good job! Two thumbs up for it.

This is the HongKong-in-my-memory since the day I took R&R from my combat unit in Vietnam to this destination in 1970. After all the buildings, I appreciate this tranquil scene.
Thank you, thnak you.

Well working compo Dan. The almost BW setting in the mist, with just the few details gives an elegant simple setting.

Very nice moody atmosphere caught here, Daniel.
I would just alter the contrast a bit - see my workshop.
Thanks for sharing,

A very nice foggy scene, Dan - good composing with the boat placed at a strong point within the frame, and seemingly headed towards the hills in the back. I think you could have tried saving it at less compression though (it's only 24 KB!).

Mysterious smog or special weather conditions make your shoot momment in a intestesting and nice grey and slightly blue composition in this water scenery with a boat travelling alone but with people to other harbour. Thanks for your point of view and the way you materialize this second in life. It's really interesting and beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Dan, yesterday I just decided to check whether you had mentioned something about being away that I had missed, and there you sare again. Welcome back. There's a lot of empty space, but boy, it is beautiful. Especially because of the lack of colours. NIce fog, nice composition.

The mist realy makes it, Dan. Whta I remeber from my two days visit in HK a few years ago is FOG - always foggy. And you have turned this fog as an advantage for a beautifal composition. Very good shot.

Hi Daniel
Moody & atmospheric. I like the almost desaturated monochromatic look. I think its because of the smog. I had the same results for some of my HK images. But in this instance, it looks great.

Nice picture. I like the vague shapes on the background, without the boat on the foreground it would be a bit boring, maybe, but now it looks very intresting.

Wow! It looks like one of those movies, when out of the mist, the pirate ships suddenly appear! Ok, that's too much imagination...I like how the ship is isolated, doing its work despite all the obstacles around it. Very moody shot! Great work, Daniel!
