Photographer's Note
This is my second shot of Central–Mid-levels escalators, this time taken from outside.I hope you like it in vertical format, which in my opinion shows better how densely built-up the city really is.
In WS I attached another photo of the Escalators.
Some facts about the escalators found on wikipedia.org:
The Central–Mid-levels escalators in Hong Kong is the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world. The entire system covers over 800 metres in distance and elevates over 135 metres from bottom to top. It was constructed in 1993 to provide a better commute by linking areas within the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The escalators are 800 metres (2,600 ft) long with a vertical climb of 135 metres (443 ft). The total travel time is twenty minutes, but most people walk while the escalator moves to shorten their trip. Due to the geographical situation, the same distance is equivalent to several miles of zigzagging roads if travelling by car. It consists of twenty escalators and three moving side-walks.The escalator daily runs downhill from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and uphill from 10:30am to midnight. Apart from serving as a method of transporting, it is also a tourist attraction and has restaurants, bars, and shops lining its route.

Podoba mi sie to zdjecie skladajace sie z linii, wzorow i ksztaltow. Pionowy format z wysokimi budynkami w tle pasuje idealnie. Swietny pomysl na czarno-biale zdjecie.
Pozdrawiam i zycze milego weekendu

Hi Krzystof,
This is a beautiful compliment to your last shot, and black and white was a really excelelnt choice.
The photos of these escalators really show the intense busyness of the streets, the tall tower blocks add to this nicely too.
Really nice urban shot, and very gritty with the B&W treatment.
Cheers

WoW! Krzysztof
this is so creative and I love it! The lines and tones here are just irresistible and it works so perfectly in this medium. It has an almost sci-fi atmosphere about it and I commend you on your observation and imaginative post processing. Superb!

Czesc Krzysztof,

Complimenti
Ciao e buon fine settimana

Hello Krzystof,
this photo shows well the contrasts and the ambiguity of Asia.
On the one hand there is the modern architecture of the escalators, then there is the "modern" architecture with faceless tenements that can be found anywhere in the world - but even these have a special touch.
When watching the photo I don´t KNOW that it was taken in Asia, but I can somehow FEEL it.
Everything is narrow, but they are able to use the space in the best way possible.
B/W fits well. It makes us focus on the essential in this shot, the architecture.

Good evening Krzysztof,
A "busy" B&W shot in a very busy town. Without those escaltors, many would use cars in the already congested city.
POV well chosen, and shown a narrow "strait" through high-rise buildings.
WS also well showing the escalators - you might as well post a main pic.
Have a nice weekend,
Ike

Hi Krzystof,
Your description is perfect, this photo expresses just how dense and compact the urban streets are. The choice of an upright format is perfect for the vertical lines of the buildings and makes that diagonal descent of the escalator even more intense as it pulls me down an into the image. This has an effect of black & white chrome, quite eye-catching and compelling. There's obviously a graphical element as well, which is well suited for this environment. Very well done! Have a great weekend.
Cheers,
Jason

Really unique view, Krzysztof, and a great urban B&W shot as well. Nice use of lines to show the busy nature of downtown Hong Kong - here they go in every possible direction, dragging the eye with them. Really full shot, too - nowhere is there not something to take in. Thanks!

Hi Krzystof
now this it totally cool!
I had no idea such escalators existed in Hong Kong, never! Am i totally ignorant!?
Really smart and cool idea to reduce the cars on the road and congestion by adding in these escalators for people.
love the shot too, it has a cool HDR look and feel to it that I appreciate. and yes, the congestion is obvious, I feel clostraphobic already just looking at it! :)
very cool indeed
cheers

Hi Krzysztof
The positioning of the escalators is very satisfying, especially when set within the inevitable asymmetry of their environment and black and white emphasizing the strong graphical elements. Excellent clarity and detail, and the wide angle perspective. Really strong lines, well taken picture.
Kind regards

Hi Krzysztof,
I think you found optimal viewpoint to show this long escalator, leading to higher parts of the city. Comparing left and right parts of the frame gives good idea of steepness, something that is usually pretty hard to achieve.
Buildings are so tall and narrow, and not so moderns as we can see on the left. B&W suits well.

Hi Krzysztof,
I haven't been there, the shot is awesome! It took me awhile to figure out what's what here and how it worked, lol. I thought it was some sort of a strange railroad going up at first:)) How did you get outside for god's sake? Is there an observation point?:))
Superb use of black and white, it gives such a stylish industrial feel to the whole thing. Great work!
Cheers

Hello Krzysztof
A wonderful shot from the urban jungle. The tube elements of the escalators placed in the foreground is a nice addition, and also works well as a lead into the composition. Yes, the vertical format was well chosen. A nice combination of different arcitectural styles. The busyness from this place is well conveyed. It even seems like you managed to include a church here, in the right part of the frame. Brillian b&w work, Krzysztof! TFS. Have a nice evening.

Hello Krzysztof,
The picture achieved its purpose. It shows very well how densely built-up Hong Kong really is. It even shows a city centre where you only look into the height and into the depth.
Maybe not really a city for people with claustrophobia ...
