Photographer's Note

It´s my second photo of Star Ferry,this time with Hong Kong´s tallest building in the background-The International Commerce Centre(484m).
Star Ferry is one of the city’s iconic tourist attractions and has been plying Victoria Harbour, between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, since the late 1800’s. Decked out in their distinctive green and white livery, the Star Ferry is an integral part of the city’s history and remains beloved by both locals and visitors alike.The Star Ferry runs along a number of routes, however the original, and most popular route, is between Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon and Central on Hong Kong Island.

I had taken a ride with a similar one, Krzysztof, and at night, even with 5 star service...
Nice taken the view in full, mingle well with the terminal and the tallest tower in far BG.
Clarity and light managed well.

Czesc Krzysiu
Bardzo podoba mie sie kolorystyka tego zdjecia z odcieniami blekitu i zieleni przybranymi kilkoma czerwonymi plamkami. Piekne sa tez te tonacje i odbicia w wodzie.
Znowu ciekawe zestawienie przystani oraz bardzo nowoczesnych budynkow w tle.

Un POV intéressant déjà par les couleurs du ferry, les bâtiments moderne en arrière plan et surtout celui d'une hauteur incroyable, bonne lumière et reflets

Ten prom jest ju¿, jak widzê dosyæ wiekowy i sfatygowany, ale dziêki temu ma swój niepowtarzalny urok retro. Te zabudowania portowe za nim co prawda niespecjalne , ale z ty³u widaæ fragmenty nowoczesnego miasta. I tu mamy fajny kontrast pomiêdzy starym i nowym. ¦wietna, stonowana kolorystka i bardzo dobra jako¶c obrazu.

Nice capture of this ferry with modern architectures in the background. Good lighting and dof with nice details. I like the colors. Well done, tfs.

(The airplane in my moon photo is indeed an MD-80 owned by Allegiant Airlines which is based in Las Vegas)

Such an iconic boat, I would hazard to say probably the most famous ferry in the world, and you have taken a wonderful shot of it here. I'm not sure if its the boats fame preceding it, but I would almost consider this a portrait shot, as the boat almost looks to have a life of its own, it certainly has personality.

And of course, the skyline behind. Incredible the heights that we rise too in the modern world, I will never fail to be amazed by these incredible skyscrapers.

A similar thematic shot to your last of the ferry, coupling the old with the new modern Hong Kong in a really interesting way. You've got as well the same fog here that added so much nice mystery to the last shot. I think, were I to have to choose between the two, I would pick the first because of the beautiful perspective and offsetting of the ship with the skyscraper, but this is a well thought out shot as well, and has much to recommend it. Interesting the similarities between the boat and terminal - there's a bit of camouflage here!

Although the weather is not on your side but it's fairly well exposed with good clarity and colors. The tight frame with enough fg base accentuating the focal of interest and specks of vivid colors hold the eyes in firmly there, and bg coverage yields a more depth and perspective to the shot. Hong Kong one of the most busy ports in the world but this is a very quiet place with these boat as subject.
You took again a very nice picture with depth and perspective.
Composition and presentation are excellent, also excellent sharpness and clarity.

The greenish tones of the ferry and water are very vibrant in contrast to the muted colours of the background, no doubt caused by that amazing amount of smog. Wow, that's some serious smog!

I took also that ferry few years ago...perfest faming and sharp...we can see also the modern skyscrapers in the BG of this fascinating city...excellent work and naturals colors...

Very nice picture, full of contrasts, as offered this traditional and beautiful ferry, with the most high skyscrapers that we see behind the quay, ideal chromaticism. contrast with the green of the boat with the other colors.

I recognize the colour scheme from your first photo of these ferries. A well recorded scene from the busy harbour in Hong Kong. The haze creates a nice atmosphere and highlights the ferry in a fine way. Great shot:)

the better the main subject the better the photo.
is that the famous smog we see in the air?!
too bad you couldn't get any other close in shots.

The pier is framing well the ferry. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the ferry. The light is giving a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.
