View from Hong Kong's Victoria Peak towards sunset.

During January bad air quality in Beijing was big news everywhere. While the situation isn't so bad in Hong Kong, quality of air was widely discussed in local newspapers. And no wonder. Hong Kong has over 7 million inhabitants, and that makes it only fourth biggest city in the region.

Hi Kari,

Well, I think the poor air quality has worked in your favor here...this has a wonderful, moody atmosphere. The pink hue given to the sun and sky is a nice touch of color to an otherwise grey scene. Too bad the boats couldn't have been over to the left to fill some of the open space, but one can only work with whatever is presented to them, obviously not every situation is ideal!? You've done well to capture the essence of the moment, thanks for sharing this beautiful sunset. Best wishes.

Hej Kari,
Excellent colours and a very pleasant picture with this very faint contours of the background hills and the ships here. The sharp branches of the foreground tree add an important pattern to the capture.

Hi Kari,
Good vertical format to frame the sky with undergoing sun. Very nice soft color and lighting effect, impressive sunset view in a slightly misty day, good discovery and good capture to the awesome natural phenomenon. Excellent exposing for the sun has nicely captured the colors of the sunset and made a good silhouette of the tree branches. Distinct photo, good shot.

Your photo is exquisite, like one of those oriental paintings: so frail and beautiful. The colours are amazing, and I think it's safe to say that the air pollution has really created something special and beautiful here. I love the minimalism, the dainty branches of the tree makes for an exquisite yet necessary element to the image.

Hello Kari,
I like this idea a lot. The composition is very simple and elegant with only couple of details but it makes the eye focus more on absolutely great colors. The combination of soft pink and grey shades is very attractive.

Wow! I know tht smog is a big problem in China, but this bad? Very nice documentation of this event and I like the effect of the smog on the mood. Well done, tfs.
