[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
If you have never been in Hong Kong, this is a good picture to introduce to you the sea front of the harbour. We have been called the "Pearl of Orient". Most of the photos introduced our city is by night scene. This one could illustrate the harbour in the daytime. The one with a vessel parking is the Ocean Center. This ferry is for cruise and big vessel. The one close to us with green roof is the new "star ferry". Take a ferry across the harbour only spend you 10 minutes and the price equivalent to a quarter of US dollar.

Hi TH Yuen

I have always thought that if you want to see how people really live then go to the back door and not the front. This shot certainly paints a different picture to all those Hong Kong cityscapes that have been posted recently.

Now the city doesn't look so overpowering and is in fact dwarfed by its environment. I love the way that you have cut the foreground down and maximised the sky. The sky is so dramatic here and needs all that space.

It's obviously a wide angle shot which the scene even more impressive.

There are too many horizontal lines in this photograph for my liking, but then I suspect that you would have had few other choices here.

Hey Mr. Yuen

I never get tired reading information about Hong Kong, viewing it either from this side or from Tsimshatsui.

This particular 'moody' shot was taken I believe last June, the month where the beginning of the summer monsoon, the Chinese call this the 'plum rain'. Sorry dude why am I talking abouth the weather...I guess it's the gloominess, the atmospheric clouds that weathers your image.

I've never seen such photo posted like this here in TE, mind you after three to five years this landscape will change so take note of this site development and compare. I remember when I was a little boy my family boarded a Macau Ferry in this same site, all very bare not much to see - again it was during the month of June, big waves, got me sea-sick, felt terrible and got so bored inside our Macau hotel room while they played in the casino! Sorry again I started reminiscing - your photos brings back those memories! Anyway I attached in your workshop a similar but tighter shot taken from 2IFC during my drinking spree last July ;)

Cheers!

Jom
