Guilin Sunset, a photo from Guangxi, South

Photographer's Note

Sunset over the Li River in Guilin. I spent most of my time in Yangshuo to the south but couldn't get a train ticket, (standing seats only for 25 hours +!) so flew back to Shanghai from Guilin instead. Prices in Yangshuo are MUCH cheaper than Guilin.

Hi Chris,

The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The distance between the bay and the sun is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the mountains. The sunset is giving nice colors to the sky and the water. Have a nice day.

So different from the blue hour and bridges but with that same magic on the water! You obviously waited patiently for the sun to hit the top of the distant hill and cast that golden glow across the water.

Hi Chris, Yangshuo is better place than Guilin, as it is smaller and just in the middle of this fantastic scenery. A bit :) touristy but very nice. I like Guilin either. I prefer the trips with locals, so we took smaller boat for the Li River cruise but it was not good idea. We didn't go to Yangshuo by river - earlier they told us to change for a bus because of the low level of water. i don't know if it was the truth. we felt cheated. But even if not complete, the cruise was wonderful.
