Photographer’s Note
Gulangyu Island is just off the coast of Xiamen in southern Fujian province. This was an impromptu outdoor performance on a stage set with an aerial photo of the former colonial island.
It was strange to hear Turkish style belly dancing music accompanying the dancers. An obvious crop was the end of the poster on the right, but then there would be enquiries about why the back of the womans' veil was cropped?

Mmm, well since there's already a cropped dancer, I think the crop you mentin would still have been a good idea. Anyway, a fine catch this, the colourful costumes loking good against the really rather bizzare looking backdrop.

Hi Chris, a nice and colorfull scene from the middle empire, I think this photo would benefit from the removal of this woman, but I agree with you cropping the veil would also not be so good, maybe use of the clone tool, but a lot of precision work involved !

A colourful picture again Chris, the red and yellow colour of those dancers in national costume is excellent, the position of the lady's with the hands is fantastic, maybe Chris you cropped the lady on the right total, this personal.
Thanks for visiting my photograph.

interesting pic here, I like the ladies and their dance here, I remember very clearly especially in parks or places with attractions in China that pretty girls are often seen dancing, the crowds of people are amazing

Very interesting photo, Chris, of the dancers in front of the slightly strange-looking poster. Very rich in colors, and nice catch of the symmetrical posing. I think I would have gone for the crop along the side of the poster - yes the veil would have been cropped but the fourth dancer isn't fully in the frame either. Nice catch.

Not always easy to catch people dancing... Here that's a nice one and the red clothes are striking with the chinese signs... Bravo!

Chris, sort of a comic shot. Dancing in front of a sign, maybe the real thing is in back. You have alot of slides in archives I suppose.

There is nothing that bodering, in my opinion from cropping point Chris. A colorful and bright composition. I really would like to know about the occasion. Thanks for sharing...

A good documentary shot. It tells a lot about the musicality of the Chinese, their costumes and customs. Good colors to go along with theis lifestyle.
I will be in China in two days.
Anyway, in my last shot, you asked about the whereabouts of Muslm mosques in Bangkok. Mostly in Bangkapi. Our school is in the middle of the Muslim area. Very much a minority, these peole blend in quite well with the Buddhist majority. Mosques are everywhere too, mostly along the khlong (canal).
