China is a booming country, everybody has heard that and the upcoming olympics will ensure the pace of this growth will continue for a while, unknown cities run into the millions and struggle to cope with this development, others build on their prosperity to upgrade their standard, such as Shenzhen, the story started not so long ago when this fishermen's village near Hong Kong (population 2000 in 1979) was promoted a special economic zone, which attracted may export oriented industries and marked the start of a rarely seen economic boom. When I first visited in 1993, population was already over 2000000, now 15 years later it is over 8000000 and growing. However shenzhen now got extremely expensive by world competition standards and the growth affects more cities of the chinese interior, the extreme example being Chongqing with a population over 31000000 yet.

Shenzhen cannot compete with such a growth and is now busy building on its wealth, for example with such exclusive housings districts featuring bigger and more comfortable flats as well as architectural goodies such as this bell tower remotely evocating Italy. As often in China, the pace is so fast it makes coordination difficult and the expressway interchange was still yet due when I passed by in a bus. It's not specific to shenzhen though, I could witness similar scenes on the way to guangzhou in Dongguan.

voici une vue intéressante sur la Chine, dans cette région, il existe de nombreux moulistes que nous consultons assez régulièrement pour du travail, il est vrai que c'est en plein changement... Jusqu'à quand?

a great informative work about there,population and ...,...and you captured the scene in a good day and clean weather having some beautiful piece clouds which made the composition better.You well composed the scene.
In a point with notice to your great note,and also with attention to bottom layer of the photo,I think this can be a great jurnalistic work,too !

j'aime beaucoup ce point de vue sur ces batiments qui pousse comme des champignons!!
la chine est un pays en plein essor!

belle perspective urbaine agrémentée des couleurs du premier plan, bientôt d'autres bâtiments se dresseront, l'exode rural en Chine c'esty quelque chose ! les JO en prime, c'est bon pour le bâtiment ;)

Deux ans plus tard, les immeubles ont dû pousser comme des champignons....je ne sais pas s'il faut s'en réjouir ou non pour eux? Une note très détaillée (trop pour mon anglais de base....)bien illustrée par l'image.

Hello Pixel,
La note est intéressante et bien documentée, mais honnêtement l'image d'un chantier chinois n'est pas ce qui me passionne le plus, même si celle-ci illustre fort bien tes propos. J'ai l'impression qu'il y a une petite cou..le en ce qui concerne les niveaux, alors je t'ai un WS.
C'était bien le rugby (j'ai pas regardé aujourd'hui) ?

Bonsoir Jean-Yves,

Même dans une région aussi polluée que la chine, où l'on y voit souvent pas grand très loin par beau temps, tu avais emmené ton ciel bleu dans tes bagages!

Le tas de terre au premier plan symbolise bien le chantier permanent qu'est ce pays en ce moment!

with the Olympic Games just few breaths away, China is on the double preparing to welcome the world. this upload says it all. nicely composed with the clouds inclusion giving the scene the richness and depth.
