Photographer's Note
Hai An is at the southern tip of Guangdong Province, & is the port for ships to Hainan Island. These are merchant ships moored in the harbour. My passenger ship didn't leave until 5 pm, so I spent a couple of hours wandering around the port. A rare blue sky, too. Mostly it was overcast or raining.

Hello Chris,
What I think is so effective is the use of the ropes in the f/g. They make an immediate link, with different textures from the focal ship, and have a pleasing diagonal.
The image is sharp and well saturated and gives a fine sense of depth and perspective with the boats in the b/g.
Have a good Sunday,
Bev :-)

Hello Chris,
What a nice way to spend time waiting for the departure. Nice close up shot of these rusted boats which are moored with these old ropes. I like the red paint at the bottom giving a nice color contrast. The image is sharp under the blue sky.

Hi Chris,
The distance between the pier and the opposite shore is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the front end of the ships. The afternoon light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Chris,
The rusty scupper with the crudely painted name and number, and especially with the frayed ropes makes a fabulous subject. By now, Sunday must be just about over. For us, it is just beginning and today there is an exciting prospect. We are scheduled to see the simultaneous transmission of "Leonardo Live", broadcast around the world (2:00 pm Eastern Standard Time, 7:00 pm GMT). It's about the "once in a lifetime exhibition" of "Leonardo in the Court of Milan." The lengthy note is just to point out the globalization we all experience in this digital age.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello Chris,
This is a wonderful angle to demonstrate the size of this ship. Good details on black against the blue sky. Nicely closed and I like this framing.
Thanks and kind regards,

Hi Chris,
I do not know why, but even in good weather the sky was never blue in china when i was there. Only in Tibet we had clear shy. Strolling among these wrecks must be fun and occasion to nice photos. interesting view.
have a nice week

Hello Chris,
Regards.
Daniel.

Hi Chris
The black hulls of these boats have a strong "visual mass" and impact. The rusty anchor and the ship's name and ID catch the eye in the FG.

Hi Chris
I like the perspective here of the ships in line and the good saturation enlivens the scene beautifully, along with the tight framing. Thanks for sharing, enjoy your evening
Warm regards
Lisa.
