This old Anglican church, in Tianjin, was built in the British foreign concession area, in 1905. The Roman Catholic Church was less fortunate, & was destroyed in the Boxer Rebellion (1899-1901). It was hard to see any blue sky through the post industrial smog.
The Church is no longer in use, but protected from the wrecker's ball, in this historic precinct of TJ.

a beautiful photo of this old church with attractive vertical composition, the environment is very nice, the bare tree and the ivy adds a lot to the romantic mood, a superb shot of this architecture, Tfs! Have a nice day!

A building with some history to it, one feels. The bare tree on the left makes an interesting frame and suits the mood of the main subject. Good colours and sharpness. Thanks for sharing.

Une architecture massive très particulière et insolite. Je ne me serais pas cru en Chine
Merci pour le partage et bonne journée.

Vertical format, sharpness, dof, pov, colors and composition are all very good!
It's strange to see a catholic church (although in ruins) in China! Great work!

nice architectural building. The old church is fantastic. Great to see with the greens in foreground. Depth and light is superb. Inclusion of the dried tree in left is fine. Great photojob. Tfs.
Have a nice evening.

It is amazing to find an Anglican church in China!
I like your composition with the building frame naturally by a tree, ferns and ivy.
Your exposure reveals interesting textural details of structure and, neglect.
Have a good w/e,

I consider it regrettable that this church is in ruins and that others were destroyed by the history. The photograph is very interesting and its quality makes it possible to examine the details. A good and useful work. Cheer.
Have a nice day

Interesting to see a church in China, even if it doesn't seem to be in the best of repair!
In particular I notice the fine colour combination with the fresh green and the old brick walls...
Original point of view, well framed!

It is quite difficult to think of a church in China! Framing with the trees has been well done and the climber on the church wall. The barren tree on the left looks quite eerie! Well done!

From the thumbnail, I thought this might be a fortress. And so it is of sorts, having survived some of the vicissitudes of the turn of the century China. Well composed, colorful shot, complemented by a succinct but informative note. Warm regards, Chris.
