Photographer’s Note
One thing China has is plenty of cheap labour. When the cost of machines vs people is the way it is in many less developed countries, you see people working in ways you would not see in the west. This person is breaking rocks by hand, just using a hammer and chisel.
I lowered the saturation in the photo a bit to give it a bit of a stark look.

The buildings and sky seem over exposed, and take away from the main subject of the picture. I think if you were to crop those out it would be a much better picture. I would crop right below the dirt hill.
The note is great.

Interesting scene and weird work - well this is China as you put in your note!
You could maybe have made a selected decrease of brightness to your sky?
